It’s all about “Finnovation”

Cash-O-Nova is the Finance club at IIFT. The club acts as a platform for discussion and activities that go beyond classroom teachings. Members draw benefit from club activities and meetings.

Objectives:

To develop the student community's knowledge about all aspects of modern day finance

To increase the understanding of various careers in finance

To foster stronger relationships between IIFTians and the corporate world

Activities:

Club Meetings: Meetings for students' presentations and discussions of various Finance related topics.

Infineeti: The Club also comes out with a monthly Finance Magazine “Infineeti” written by its members. The Magazine covers a number of quality articles on different topics in the financial domain. There is a balance maintained between technical and fun-part of finance.

Students’ Mutual Fund “Samriddhi”: Equity research is an area of common interest. To facilitate the learning process and give a more hands on real time learning experience, Cashonova has its own in-house Mutual Fund with a real NAV. The Mutual Fund comprises Research and Investment teams, which study the stock market and come up with suggestions. Its main purpose is to make our members understand the markets and make equity research reports on the basis of their understanding. Theses reports are then made the basis of investing decisions.

Organizing Symposiums: The club organized a national level banking symposium on “Designing the Global Financial Strategy” in the month of August last year. The seminar was a huge success, drawing participants from B-Schools, the corporate sector and banks. The interaction with the high profile speakers ranging from the Department of Commerce Ministry to the Chairmen of Banks proved to be a great learning experience for the audience.

Workshops: These are amongst the most interesting activities of the club. Participants are asked to participate in the workshops relating to various facets of finance delivered by eminent speakers. They are also asked to take part in Case Studies related to various business situations.
