A student's experience at IIFT goes far
beyond the reaches of pure academic training, encompassing an
all-round development of the mind, body and the spirit. Here are a
couple of accounts from IIFT's alumni to help you understand campus
life at IIFT a little better.
Life As An IIFTian:
Ruchita Misra, MBA - International Business, 2007 – 2009
The dreaded entrance
exams, the grueling group discussion sessions, the excruciatingly
painful wait for the results, the euphoria of having made it through
to one of the top B schools of the country-that is what precedes our
coming to IIFT. What happens next is another story altogether!
There are always [and I cannot emphasize the word enough] assignments
with their merciless deadlines looming large over our perpetually
sleep deprived heads, waiting to be submitted .Innumerable lectures
have to attended with little or no scope for bunks, quizzes have to be
written , presentations to be given! From running around getting last
minute print outs to staying up the whole night to wrap up some work-
all this is but an integral part of life here at IIFT.
That is one, however
and thankfully just one side of the coin! We do manage to have our own
share of fun. The fun begins when its someone’s birthday! Let the
clock strike 12 and you just have to watch the fun unfold in true IIFT
style! The entire batch turns up to make the night a memorable one for
the birthday boy/ girl and to have the cake!
Within a few days of landing at this place is when the fun actually
begins once we all start getting to know each other better. Leg
pulling is at its best at IIFT ! Commit one blunder , do one silly
thing and be sure that you will not be allowed to forget it till you
are here! You will be mercilessly leg pulled, given nick names that
just might end up staying with you. All this and more but all in good
fun with a couple of millions laughs thrown in!
