Activities
The activities of the Centre for International Trade in Technology
include:
Conducting
research on the emerging issues relating to technology trade and to
identify specific export opportunities for India.
Providing
inputs to relevant institutions and Government Departments with a
view to developing an enabling policy regime.
Undertaking
educational and training activities at various levels in the academic
institutions and the corporate sector.
Initiating
and develop networking among similar type of centers, both in India
and abroad.
Undertaking
studies on WTO mandated agreements affecting technology trade such
as TRIPs, TBT, etc.
Organising
seminars and workshops and prepare documents for wider dissemination
of the research output as well as offer a public forum for discussing
the relevant issues.
Building
up databases on technology and technology-based exports from both
secondary and primary sources.
Exploring
the possibilities of additional funding for the Centre by interacting
with external funding agencies with a view to expanding, strengthening
and deepening the future work programme of the Centre.
In addition to the above activities, following publications, relevant
to technology trade, are currently being published by IIFT, with the
active technical and financial support of DSIR.

Compendium on Exported/Exportable Technologies from India
A quarterly
newsletter “Technology/Exports”
These publications are widely disseminated within the country and
abroad, and have proved to be useful in providing information for
promotion of technology trade activities as indicated by the appreciations
received from various quarters concerned with the subject. Contributions
to their publications are welcome.
The activities of the Centre are constantly evaluated in the context
of the emerging needs and appropriate programmes are designed to the
benefit of the target clientele of the Centre.
The Centre is manned by well qualified and experienced professionals
engaged on long-term as well as short terms basis. It is adequately
equipped and willing to undertake sponsored or contractual
specialised projects, studies, etc., related to its objectives from
other Ministries/Departments and organisations as well, interested
in development and promotion of international trade in technology. |
